Adult Education 2016

Adult Education and Discussion Opportunities

Our vision for Adult educational/discussion opportunities is to welcome all people and provide opportunities to grow in relationship with God by:

  • forming small groups for spiritual growth, learning and socializing
  • gathering together and engaging in questioning discussions and dialogues
  • providing a variety of well-publicized opportunities for Christian education

What We Believe

Schedule for 2016 semester:

Sunday mornings between services 10:15 AM – 10:55 AM

Adult Study “Fearless Conversation”  Room 004

Is God in control of my life?  Discussions from Joshua, Ruth and Esther:  Jesus never quizzed His followers on facts about His life.  He didn’t pass out fill-in-the blank worksheets.  He didn’t always offer pat answers.  Instead, Jesus helped people wonder, grapple and wrestle with the hard questions of faith and life.  That’s what “Fearless Conversation” is all about.  Participants are welcome to come every week, or drop in as they are able.  Contact cathleenhyland@verizon.net for more information.

Advent Study  Room 209

In addition to the ongoing adult Sunday school class, an additional four-week Advent Study will be offered in room 209 on the four Sundays in Advent beginning November 27.  This study titled Rejoicing in Hope by James A. Harnish offers short readings followed by enticing discussion questions. This study is “an invitation to live into the stories of what God did through the lives of ordinary people who became central characters in the Christmas story, so that we can practice living in what God has done and is doing to bring hope to this world.”  Please consider joining in the discussions for any or all of these four Sundays. For more information, you may contact Ginny Lavanish vlavanish@verizon.net and Debbie Van Aken drvanaken@gmail.com
